Tom received a B.A. in 1991 from the University of British Columbia, a J.D. in 1994 from the University of Oregon School of Law and an LL.M in Tax in 1996 from the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law. Tom was called to the Washington State Bar in 1994 and the British Columbia Bar in 1997.


Tom practices primarily in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, corporate & commercial, corporate finance and tax. Tom has acted for both public and private clients on a variety of matters and has been involved in acquisitions, dispositions, financings and reorganizations of various types and sizes, including mergers & acquisitions transactions, tax reorganizations, corporate restructurings, business acquisitions and divestitures, negotiated and hostile takeovers, plans of arrangement and related financing transactions. Tom also provides ongoing advice to the firm's clients on a broad range of corporate & commercial, corporate governance and forestry related matters.
